The Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club course was designed by Ron Fream and inaugurated in 1986. The greens are Bent Grass and the fairways are Bermuda Grass.

When you're playing this course you will find that there are a reasonable number of uphill and downhill shots because of the fact that the golf course is literally wrapped around the sides of these magnificent verdant and majestic mountains. The tree-lined fairways, along with well-bunkered holes, will pay dividends if you keep your concentration on the game instead of gazing at the beauties of nature that surround you.

Weekend golfers will have the least trouble with the course's holes 4, 7, 11, 14, and 16, and should be able to do perfectly well on 2, 10 and 17, again, if you keep your wits about you.
