The Starfire at Scottsdale Country Club course was designed in 1988 by the penultimate professional and the man who may be largely responsible for the popularity of the game today, the one and only Arnold Palmer and inaugurated. Arnold specified that the putting surfaces should be Tifeagle and the fairways made out of Bermuda Grass and the course is played in various combinations of nine holes each to come up with eighteen: The King & Hawk, The King & Squire and The Hawk & Squire.
Predominantly, the greens are firm, well guarded, and great rollers. This course is not an unusually difficult one for any rookie player but will likely prove a noble antagonist to the adept golfer teeing off from a much further tee.
