La Quinta Resort & Club Dunes Course

The La Quinta Resort & Club Dunes Course was designed by Pete Dye and inaugurated in 1985. The greens are Tifdwarf Grass and the fairways are Winter Rye. Inspired by the Scottish highland courses, its design is gruff and awe inspiring.

Many of the holes are breath takingly Scottish in design and flavor, and have a few bunkers and hazards that are not visible from the tee. The tiered fairways and tiered and multitiered greens are protected by a number of bunkers and water hazards which play an significant role in the overall playability of the course.

This course is not an extraordinarily demanding one for any rookie golfer but should prove a noble adversary to the experienced Golf Professional. Greenhorns will have the fewest number of hassles with the course's holes 2, 5, 8, 11, 14 and 16.
