La Quinta Resort & Club Mountain Course
The La Quinta Resort & Club Mountain Course was designed by Pete Dye and inaugurated in 1980. The greens are Tifdwarf Grass and the fairways are Winter Rye. This exciting course only has a few hazards, including nine ponds that come into play on twelve out of the eighteen holes.
The greens are mostly hard, flat, fast and putt very true, but some are elevated, multitiered or outright turtle backed. The wide open, broad and exciting fairways are defined by the mounds on the sides. Amateurs will have their best opportunity at conquering the course's holes 3, 6, 7, 9, and 13.
The magnificence of this course is only matched by the entertainment factor of its significant fairway bunkering and the approaches surrounding its greens.
