Honors: Hosted California State Open, Senior PGA Tour National Qualifying Finals and the LPGA Qualifying Schools/ Golf Magazine 2002: "The Westin is also home to what may be the best golf course in the Palm Springs area- the difficult, well designed and joyful Gary Player Course" / Golf Shop Operations Magazine-one of the "100 Best Golf Shops"
The Westin Mission Hills Resort Player Course was designed by Gary Player and inaugurated in 1991. The greens are Tifdwarf Grass and the fairways are Bermuda Grass.

The fairways are wide and broad, and the greens are undulating but generally fast, hard and have a great true lie. There are mostly dry washes, plus creeks and ponds that come into play on seven holes.

The signature hole on this course is 14, a 467-yard, par 5, which plays alongside a creek and affords a great view of the area. Novices will have the most enjoyable time with the course's holes 2, 8, 9, 13, and 18. After your game the imposing clubhouse is awaiting you with fastidious service while you enjoy the fabulous desert and mountain views of the well kept Golf Club.
