The Lockwood Folly Country Club course lies between the Lockwood Folly River and the Intracoastal Waterway, and was designed by Willard Byrd and inaugurated in 1988. The greens are Tifdwarf Grass and the fairways are Poa Annua Grass.

The fairways are open and easy to play, and the greens are large and slightly undulating with a few being turtle backed, but generally feature superb, very true lies. The back nine is quite long from the tees and fairly forgiving.

Some of the fairways are lined with trees or wilderness areas, but most fairways are quite wide, broad and open. Water hazards consisiting of ponds, lakes, creeks, and streams come into play on fifteen holes. The course is essentially beginner friendly and novices will be thrilled with the course's holes 1, 7, and 13.
