| The Black Bear Golf Club course was designed by Tom Jackson and inaugurated in 1990. The greens are Tifdwarf Grass and the fairways are Bluegrass. This course has wide open fairways, fast and fairly flat and hard greens, and water hazards coming into play on thirteen out of the eighteen holes. There are quite a few changes in elevation throughout the course. Rookies will be very happy with the course's holes 3, 9, 14, and 17 as the course is predominantly relatively easy to play. The signature hole on this course is 4, a 443-yard, par 4, which plays alongside a creek and affords a great view of the area but keep an eye out for the sand bunkers that guard the putting surface as they can sometimes get in the way.
