The Hillcrest Golf Club course was designed by James McGill and inaugurated in 1967. The greens are Tifdwarf Grass and the fairways are Bermuda Grass.

Generally the greens are large, but some of them are well oversized. A lake comes into play on five holes.

The first ten holes are links-style, and the last eight holes are traditional. The back is easier because the fairways are very broad, wide and inviting, and you can be much more at ease as to your shot placements. All eighteen holes have their own unique features which make them all very special. The signature hole is 9, a 421-yard, par 4, which requires an interesting approach shot to an absolutely spectacular and memorable island green which is hard, subtle, fast, domed, undulating and has a precise lie.
