The Bonaventure Country Club West Course was designed by Joseph Lee and Charles Mahannah and inaugurated in 1975. The greens and the fairways are Bermuda Grass.

The course features several carries over water, a couple of hidden pin placements, some tiered, multitiered and elevated tees, and gently ondulating fairways. There are some multitiered and tiered landing areas, firm, hard, fast tiered and elevated greens, and some rather rough cut greenside bunkers.

Water hazards (lakes, creeks, canals and ponds) come into play on sixteen holes. This course was designed to be fun, yet entertaining and includes two par 4's. With its oversized greens, accuracy is rewarded off the tee, while the subtle undulation and hard, fast and true lie can really help the beginning golfer.
