Eagle Crest Golf Course
The Eagle Crest Golf course was designed by Greg Nash and Billy Casper and according to the latter, "You can take any hole from this course, put it in the middle of a championship course, and it would fit right in." That's all fine and dandy from a PR perspective, but given the fact that the highest slope on this course is 97 and it drops into the 80s for the Red tee, Billy's championships must be of mini golf.
Eagle Crest is a spectacular course, with amazing views of the Vegas skyline, purple mountains, and magnificently maintained terrain, but a championship course it certainly isn't. It's a great course for the real, normal, mortal golfer to have a fun day in. And isn't that what golf is all about? Not PR hype?
